The Historic Canton Church will continue our Summer Schedule of Events on August 25 at 5:00 pm with Linda Huth, Broadwater County Museum Curator, presenting “Colorful Characters and Outstanding Citizens”. As always events are free – although we do accept donations!

“Colorful Characters and Outstanding Citizens”

Learn about Broadwater County’s lesser-known colorful characters and outstanding citizens.

Linda is a member of 8 generations of my mother’s family living in Broadwater County. I was born, raised and schooled in Broadwater County and have lived here most of my life except for about 15 years. Most of those years were not very far from home – in Helena. I worked for the Farm Service Agency, which is an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture for over 30 years and retired in 2007. I have worked at the Broadwater County Museum since 2011 as Curator of the Museum.

The Historic Canton Church was built in 1875-1876 and is one of the few surviving buildings from the town of Canton which was flooded during the creation of Canyon Ferry Lake. All our events begin at 5:00 pm but the Canton Church will be open to visitors from 3:00-5:00 pm before events.
